Assembly, Nov 14, 2020

 

To the Clerks of Session, Cabinet Elders, Committee Chairs, Commissioned Lay Pastors, and Minister Members of Presbytery:

 

The November 14, 2020, Assembly meeting of the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley will be conducted on-line utilizing Zoom Meeting (Meeting ID and Password will be listed on our Docket)

Registration will begin at 9:00 AM and we will have an Orientation to the meeting.

Call to Order will at 9:30 AM

In addition to each pastor and lay pastor attending, each church is expected to send a ruling elder commissioner to presbytery assembly.  If the regular ruling elder delegate cannot attend, an alternate should attend instead.

Please read the documents ahead of time. Because of the online format, we are asking you to send any questions about the reports to the committee/commission chair of the report, or any corrections of the minutes to the Co-Stated Clerks, ahead of the meeting in writing. (Email is great.)  It will allow us to have time to address the question and correct any information ahead of time for the documents that will be shared on the screen.  We will greatly appreciate this!

Approximately 10 days prior, the proposed Docket, reports and papers for the presbytery assembly meeting will begin to be posted and can be accessed below.

When we “break bread” together as a church in worship, we remember that Jesus invites folks to his table as part of his ministry, meeting us where we are. Our “virtual communion” service creates a way for all of us to break bread together with whatever we have at our homes. As you are getting ready for our Assembly, we invite all of you to set a place near your computer, tablet, or phone that includes something to eat and something to drink (donut and coffee? Toast and orange juice?).

Please note that there will be a SPECIAL workshop on “Lowering Our Carbon Footprint” held

at 1 PM after our Assembly concludes using the same Zoom Log-In. All are welcome. [Flyer]
