The offering is part of the liturgy. How many of our congregations deny full participation in worship by only receiving gifts by cash or check in the offering plate? This limitation creates a theological and practical challenge. This workshop will unpack the many ways to give from cash or check in the offering plate, online bill pay, EFT, credit/debit, qualified charitable distributions and planned gifts.
Research shows that 62% of church goers want to make their gifts electronically. Including an online giving program can enhance the financial resources needed to support the life of the church.
The Rev. Ellie Johns-Kelley, a member of the Presbytery of Lake Erie as well as serving as the Presbyterian Foundation’s Ministry Relations Officer for the Northeast Region. “Building on relationships and resourcing churches to help them increase funding for their ministry are my top priorities,” said Ellie. “I want to help others realize the vast amount of resources available through the Foundation and work in collaboration with other agencies of the PC(USA).”
